2 April 2014 – Cunard's newest ship, Queen Elizabeth, made her maiden call Monday, 31 March, at Halong Bay in Vietnam. Noted for its spectacular seascape of islands and sheer rock pillars, the Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage site and famous as a James Bond film location.
Queen Elizabeth's call at Halong Bay comes over half way through her annual Round World Voyage, after leaving Southampton on 10 January 2014 and having already sailed through the Panama Canal and on to San Francisco, Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and China.
