New Stories include an Adventure that Resulted in Marriage, Meeting a Foster Child and Finding a “Happy Place”
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (October 2, 2012) – Princess Cruises’ blog, “Inspired to Cruise: A Year of Reasons to Get Away From the Everyday” has chronicled an additional five reasons to cruise, presenting a new selection of heartwarming and inspiring passenger stories about the many things that can motivate travelers to choose a vacation at sea.
The most recent stories are from cruisers who have had an adventure turn into marriage, found a home-away-from-home, met a foster child, and even used images of the Princess’ shipboard Piazza to get through the panic of heart surgery. The blog, found at http://inspiredtocruise.com, illustrates some of the myriad reasons people take cruise vacations.
Each week during 2012 the blog explores the celebrations, accomplishments, milestones and other inspired reasons to cruise, each told by a different passenger. This diverse group of contributors – from long-time cruisers to those who set sail for the first time – will share a total of 52 stories.
The latest reasons to cruise are:
Story #40: To Go to My “Happy Place” – Eileen Langdon of Southern California, shares how the Piazza photos she kept in her handbag and by her bed helped calm the panic of doctors and hospitals when she had heart surgery.
Story #39: To See Our Foster Child – Eleanor Troutman of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, shares how she and her husband, who had previously only known the child they sponsored through photos and letters, delighted in taking him out for ice cream during their call in Cartagena, Colombia.
Story #38: To Take the Retirement Trip Our Husbands Missed – Christine Geisler of Brainerd, Minnesota, shares how she and her friend thought their dream trips to Alaska would never happen after the deaths of their husbands – until they decided to go on their own.
Story #37: To Make a Home – Brian Roloff shares how he and his wife, Alanna, don’t have a home of their own but enjoy the feeling of being at home on a Princess ship when they have time off from their demanding work schedules.
Story #36: To Take My First, Big Adventure – Mary Director of Chandler, Arizona, shares her story of taking her first big trip on a cruise to see the world outside of her hometown. What she didn’t know was that she’d also meet her future husband.
Also featured on the blog are regular “Escape Inspiration” videos. Each 30-second favorite moment at sea is introduced by a Princess crew member who describes why the scene is meaningful to them.
