Travel Weekly,
an influential news resource in the travel industry, recognized
Norwegian
Cruise Line with five gold and four silver 2012 Magellan Awards in the
Advertising/Marketing, Social Media, Loyalty Program, TV Commercial and
Mobile Application categories.
Travel Weekly will feature Norwegian in the October 15, 2012
issue and will include a special section devoted to the most exciting
and innovative work being done in the travel industry today.
Norwegian
was recognized with five gold Magellan Awards. The company won three
gold awards in the Advertising/Marketing
categories, including two gold awards for the line’s Partners First
Advertising Campaign and one for the 2012-2014 Fleet Brochure. Norwegian
also received gold honors in the Social Media Category for the
“Norwegians are Social” campaign and for the line’s
NCL.com mobile application in the Mobile App category.
Norwegian
also took home four silver awards. The Brand and Destination Campaigns
took home silver honors in the
Advertising/Marketing Category, Norwegian’s 30 second TV commercial was
awarded silver in the TV Commercial Category and the line’s Latitudes
Rewards Program was honored with silver in the Loyalty Rewards category.
The
Travel Weekly Magellan Awards are designed to honor the best in
the travel industry, recognizing a broad range of segments including
hotels and resorts, travel destinations, cruise lines, online travel,
airlines and airports, travel agents and agencies
and car rental companies.
This year’s judging panel comprised top
travel industry professionals such as Peter Greenberg, travel editor;
Bob Dickinson, former CEO of Carnival Cruise Lines; Patricia Schultz,
author of 1,000 Places to See Before You Die; Burt
Wolf, Internationally Syndicated Television Journalist; Rudy Maxa, PBS
Host of Rudy Maxa's World; Lalia Rach, associate dean and HVS
International Chair for New York University; and popular travel blogger,
Johnny Jet.
