Couples on the line’s newest ships can exchange vows at sea in a ceremony performed by the captain

MIAMI – Engaged couples dreaming of exchanging vows while sailing into the sunset can now do so, as Norwegian Cruise Line announced that the line will begin offering legally recognized weddings at sea performed by the ship’s captain now on Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway, and on Norwegian Escape when she launches this fall.

Norwegian’s Wedding At Sea package includes everything couples need to celebrate their nuptials, including a bridal bouquet and matching boutonniere, champagne toast, wedding cake and more, plus an experienced wedding coordinator to assist them every step of the way during the planning process.

Once on board, they will enjoy their big day stress free, as on-site wedding coordinators handle all of the day’s details so the happy couple can relax and enjoy their special day. The onboard ceremonies will be performed by the ship’s Captain, with the couple’s marriage license issued by the Bahamas.

  

In addition to weddings at sea, Norwegian also offers customizable destination wedding experiences in one of the line’s spectacular ports of call. Whether they choose to tie the knot overlooking the sparkling ocean, atop a majestic glacier in Alaska, or under a canopy of palm trees on an exotic Caribbean beach, couples planning their dream destination wedding with Norwegian can select a Harborside Ceremony, performed on board while the ship is docked in select ports of call, or Destination Ceremony, performed on shore in select ports of call. 

Ceremonies are available in a wide range of destinations -- including Norwegian’s domestic embarkation ports, as well as beautiful destinations in Canada, Mexico, Europe, the Caribbean, and Bermuda. From a romantic, intimate ceremony in Santorini, Greece to an elaborate portside affair in Maui with dozens of guests, engaged couples sailing with Norwegian can commemorate the most important day of their life as they’ve always imagined it.

With a wide range of packages available, Norwegian offers everything that couples need for their perfect celebration.
