Margaret Atwood – Queen Mary 2, Eastbound Transatlantic Crossing, 15 August 2013. Acclaimed author Margaret Atwood will preview her new book “MaddAddam” prior to its official UK release. “MaddAddam” is the third book in her trilogy that started with “Oryx and Crake” and then “The Year of the Flood.” Best known for “The Handmaid’s Tale,” Margaret is the author of more than forty books of fiction, poetry and critical essays, including the 2000 Booker Prize-winning “The Blind Assassin” and “Alias Grace,” which won the Giller Prize in Canada and the Premio Mondello in Italy. She has won over 100 awards worldwide, the most recent being The Los Angeles Times Innovator's Award for 2012. Margaret Atwood lives in Toronto with writer Graeme Gibson.
Sir David Frost – Queen Mary 2, Westbound Transatlantic Crossing, 8 October 2013. Broadcasting legend Sir David Frost is no stranger to Cunard, having travelled with the Line several times over the years and interviewing Former South Africa President Nelson Mandela live for the BBC from Queen Elizabeth 2 in Cape Town in 1998. During the 8 October Crossing, Sir David will share live with guests “Interviews I Shall Never Forget” which is a cascade of memories and hilarious anecdotes. In addition, he will do a live Q&A with the Entertainment Director of Queen Mary 2 and also introduce the film “Frost/Nixon.”
